The OpenGrants Foundation was established with the following core purposes, as officially recorded in its founding charter:
- To conduct research, innovation, and fieldwork aimed at fostering social sustainability in various areas such as environmental resilience, technology, public well-being, human rights, gender justice, and other topics related to the public good.
